Earth Science deals with study of the Earth and its neighbors in space. Earth sciences look-into the aspects such as Earth atmosphere, hydrosphere, biosphere and general issues. The study field is also known as geoscience and includes multi-disciplines: atmospheric sciences, meteorology, climatology, atmospheric physics, hydrology, oceanography, geodesy, geophysics, geology, mineralogy, glaciology, volcanology, petrology, geomagnetism, sedimentology, soil science, geo-statistics, hydrogeology, astronomy and etc. Graduates can work in many areas, especially geology, environmental science, environmental consultancy firms or governmental institutions.
For students who do not want to be limited to a single academic discipline. UCM offers 150 courses in almost all academic disciplines. The 3-year programme is entirely in English.
Jacobs University Bremen
The program Earth and Space Sciences addresses questions that require a transdisciplinary view of our planet and the universe. Topics included are the study of the Earth’s climate and oceans, natural resources and their management (e.g. fossil fuel, water), the link between Sun and Earth, as well as the origin of the solar system and the evolution of life. It bridges the gap between terrestrial and extraterrestrial environments, thus creating a holistic view of our world.

Royal Holloway University of London
The Department of Earth Sciences at Royal Holloway's purpose built Queen's Building is consistently rated top for teaching (awarded an 'Excellent' rating for teaching quality) and world-leading research (among the top six Earth Science departments in the 2008 Research Assesment Exercise). Environmental Geology at Royal Holloway brings together Geology at Royal Holloway brings together aspects of Biology, Chemistry, Geography, Mathematics and Physics directed at the understanding of our planet and its environment.
University of Portsmouth
Our environmental degree pathways have a strong science foundation, which will make you highly employable across a wide range of careers, from laboratory-based forensic investigations or chemical impact surveys to field-based conservation work, contamination investigations or ecological surveys. Both field and laboratory work are fully integrated in both pathways of our environmental science programme, with residential field courses (typically overseas) offered in all three years of each pathway. This work is supplemented by many day trips to our nearby National Parks, World Heritage sites and the Isle of Wight.
