The BA (Hons) Business Studies course combines the academic study of business disciplines and the development of vocational skills to provide you with a sound and well rounded business education. As a graduate you will be highly sought after with your rich mix of practical business skills and specialist knowledge.

You will also select four elective modules, (may include level 3 placement module) and might also include an optional dissertation, which counts as 2 modules.

Placement

There is an opportunity for you to take a 12 month paid work placement between the second and third year of these courses. This can be undertaken in a large range of organisations including a number of blue chip organisations in the public and private sector as well as small to medium sized enterprises. You can also arrange summer internships with some organisations. We have our own Placements Office who are dedicated to making sure that you find a placement which is right for you. Students from these courses have worked in organisations such as Panasonic, Unilever, IBM, John Lewis and Audi to name a few. Should you want to source a placement yourself you have the flexibility of making your own arrangements subject to approval from the Placements Office

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

UCAS Points: 220 UCAS tariff points, 160 points must be obtained from at least 2 GCE A Levels or equivalent.

Required GCSEs: English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent.

International Baccalaureate: 24 points

IELTS: 6.0 or equivalent (for students whose first language is not English).

Mature and other non-standard applicants with few formal qualifications but appropriate experience may also be considered. This will be assessed on an individual basis.
