The Business & Human Resource Management degree is designed specifically to help you to develop business knowledge and to build upon this with specialist HR related skills, theory and practice. You will study modules spanning many business functions and you will, at every level, develop the vocational skills that employers value.

The course includes the option of a one year work placement to develop hands-on HR experience. Students taking the placement will be able to demonstrate practical experience as well as academic knowledge in order to gain a head-start in the employment market.

Placement

There is an opportunity for you to take a 12 month paid work placement between the second and third year of these courses. This can be undertaken in a large range of organisations including a number of blue chip organisations in the public and private sector as well as small to medium sized enterprises. You can also arrange summer internships with some organisations. We have our own Placements Office who are dedicated to making sure that you find a placement which is right for you. Students from these courses have worked in organisations such as Panasonic, Unilever, IBM, John Lewis and Audi to name a few. Should you want to source a placement yourself you have the flexibility of making your own arrangements subject to approval from the Placements Office.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

UCAS Points: 220 UCAS tariff points, 160 points must be obtained from at least 2 GCE A Levels or equivalent.

Required GCSEs: English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent.

International Baccalaureate: 24 points

IELTS: 6.0 or equivalent (for students whose first language is not English).

Mature and other non-standard applicants with few formal qualifications but appropriate experience may also be considered. This will be assessed on an individual basis.
