BA (Hons) Marketing is a popular course which equips you with the skills you need for a successful career in marketing and business. It is highly vocational and includes the option of a one year work placement to develop hands-on marketing experience. You will study essential marketing and business principles and choose option modules tailored to your career aspirations. You will gain an understanding of how marketing impacts upon and is influenced by the wider organisation.

The course has been accredited by the professional body, the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) Dual Award, this gives students the opportunity for professional CIM membership and the opportunity to progress to the Professional Diploma in Marketing.

Placement

There is an opportunity for you to take a 12 month paid work placement between the second and third year of these courses. This can be undertaken in a large range of organisations inlcuding a number of blue chip organisations in the public and private sector as well as small to medium sized enterprises. You can also arrange summer internships with some organisations. We have our own Placements Office who are dedicated to making sure that you find a placement which is right for you. Students from these courses have worked in organisations such as Warner Bros, O2, John Lewis, Motorola and the NHS to name a few. Should you want to source a placement yourself you have the flexibility of making your own arrangements subject to approval from the Placements Office.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

UCAS Points: 220 UCAS tariff points, 160 points must be obtained from at least 2 GCE A Levels or equivalent.

Required GCSEs: English Language and Maths (grade C or above) or equivalent.

International Baccalaureate: 24 points

IELTS: 6.0 or equivalent (for students whose first language is not English).

Mature and other non-standard applicants with few formal qualifications but appropriate experience may also be considered. This will be assessed on an individual basis.
