The Business Administration programme will fully prepare you for the versatile job of office
manager. As an Business Manager, you are the appropriate person to oversee the internal
organization. You have to make sure everything runs smoothly; whether it is ICT, purchasing,
telecommunications, finances, technical support or the administration.
Your duties may include supervising the secretariat, the department or the branch office.
By following the Stenden Business Administration programme you will become the welltrained,
versatile problem solver with superior organizational and managerial skills, a
service-oriented approach, an international outlook, improvisational talents and flexibility!
Programme: subjects and activities
YEAR 1 - FOUNDATION PHASE
In the foundation phase, you will become acquainted with the ins and outs of running a
company. You will obtain deeper insight into company processes, various management
styles, the management of financial resources and materials, and you will gain a better
understanding of the organisation´s clients. During the first year, you will focus on the
core activities of Business Administration and you will be exposed to the following subjects:
communication and communication skills, the company and its surroundings, information
and communication technology (ICT), economics, research methods and law.
YEAR 2 & 3 - MAIN PHASE
During the main phase, you will develop from department head to manager: You will start
at middle management level. In this phase, you will translate the knowledge you acquired
in the foundation phase into management duties, problems and theories. The objective is
to obtain a better understanding of organisational management. You will supervise the
first-year Business Administration students in the programme´s practical department. In the
last year of the main phase, you will be required to deal with management tasks at strategic
level. In the latter phase, the focus will be on your managerial competencies and your
management vision.
YEAR 4 - GRADUATION PHASE
The course is concluded with a final thesis/research project and an internship in the
fourth year.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testTo be admitted to the first year of the programme Business Administration , you have to meet the following criteria:
* We will check your ability, motivation and determination to successfully complete the course;
* You should have a diploma of secondary education/high school diploma with good results such as for Dutch students VWO, HAVO or MBO and for foreign students diplomas which are equivalent to e.g. the German Abitur (algemeine Hochschulreife), the British GCE A-levels or (I) GCSE grades A, B or C, the French Baccalaureat or the American High School (top stream or plus 1 year's college);
* You need a sufficient level of fluency in English to start the course, which means an IELTS score of 6.0 or TOEFL 550. If your English is not sufficient, you can start with an English Course;
* You will need to make an assessment test;
* We will need all your application documents in order to start your formal procedure.
