International Business and Management Studies (IBMS) is a full-time Bachelors degree course that prepares you for a broad range of international management positions. Graduates are well prepared for the job market. They can enter careers in both the private and public sectors in the fields of international finance, marketing, business and management.
Arnhem Business School (ABS) is the international department of the Faculty of Economics and Management of HAN University of Applied Sciences. ABS has been offering the International Business and Management Studies course for over fifteen years, with more than 1000 graduates from all over the world.
Lectures in the IBMS course are held in small groups. You are taught by professionals with a wealth of international experience in the field of Business and Management. Your studies will be well linked to the business world, and you will become familiar with the latest trends in the global market.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will obtain the title Bachelor of Business Administration. International law, marketing, customer behaviour, organisations, the investment world, leadership; these are but a few of the areas you will have a solid foundation in as a graduate of the IBMS course.

The IBMS Bachelors course is professionally oriented and designed to equip you to become a highly-trained specialist in the field of business, marketing and corporate communication.
During your study you gain a thorough theoretical grounding in all areas of business management and then apply this knowledge in various practical team projects and assignments.
Practical international experience
The focus of the IBMS course is gaining experience in the real world. So part of your study will be spent abroad at one of our many international partner universities. You will also do a work placement that will give you valuable experience in the corporate world. Your language and communication skills will improve vastly, as will your knowledge of other cultures.
General course structure
Each year is divided into 2 semesters and each semester is divided into 2 terms. You are assessed throughout the academic year and have exams at the end of each term. You follow 5 to 6 subjects per semester and take part in interactive group projects aimed at developing your practical skills.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

More informationTo start a Bachelors course at Arnhem Business School you have to meet certain criteria. You need to have completed an acceptable level of secondary education. As the course is taught in English, a sufficient level of fluency in English is needed as well.

French starts at intermediate level and requires ‘faux débutant’, which means approximately 2 to 3 years of previous training. German starts at beginners’ and intermediate level. To join the intermediate level group, you need ‘Grundstufe’, which means approximately 2 to 3 years of previous training. Dutch and Spanish start at beginners’ level.
If you have already studied subjects related to this course at another institute of higher education, you may be eligible for exemption from the 1st year. In this case you will be admitted directly into the 2nd year of the course, and will graduate in less than 4 years. To qualify for direct admission to the 2nd year, you must meet the following requirements:
