We believe that the Political Sciences department has the following three characteristics:
1. We try to understand the problems of the contemporary world (globalisation, terroris, migration, global warming, challenges of cultural and religious diversity) from multiple backgrounds that include political sciences, law, sociology, psychology, economics, international relations, anthropology and statistics.
2. We study the same courses taught at prestigious foreign universities, where students acquire practical knowledge and competences.
3. We interactively debate and communicate in our courses and seminars - students will always have a word in what and how you study.
In our department there several courses that in several sub domains of Political Science that include Political Theory, Reseach Methods in Political Science, International Relations, Comparative Politics. The teaching staff from our department has specialists in the above mentioned sub domains, several of them having research grants and academic titles obtained at prestigious foreign universities. The courses combine the theoretical information with the practical skills required for the labor market.
We consider that complementarity between political theory and empirical approaches are essential. This feature makes us distinct from other schools of political science in the region. Political theory and research methods have a major role in our curricula. The first semesters the courses in political theory offer students knowledge in the history of ideas and offers additional knowledge in political phenomenology and political discourse analysis. The empirical component is very strong in the curriculum
