Programme Description

Bachelor of Chemistry students are taught the principle fields of contemporary chemistry: molecular chemistry, solids and materials chemistry, physical chemistry and organic chemistry. This course provides students with the solid foundations necessary for further study (a master´s degree) or for the teaching professions.

The two-year course offers two specializations: chemistry, and physics and chemistry.

Those who intend to enter the workforce on the strength of their bachelor´s degree can choose from three vocational specializations:

* Biotechnology Professions
* Formulation Chemistry Professions
* Organic Chemistry Professions

Further study * research or professional master´s degree
* selection by written application for certain engineering schools

Careers

* primary school teaching
* public service administration
* high school teaching
* technician or assistant engineer after the L3 of a vocational bachelor´s.

The course is organized into semesters, but all core papers offered in the first semesters of L2 and L3 are repeated in the second semesters (except for the vocational bachelors papers).

Chemistry program

The program covers the principal fields of contemporary chemistry, such as physical chemistry, molecular chemistry, organic chemistry and materials chemistry.

* L2 (2nd year level)

7 compulsory chemistry papers (42 ECTS), 1 compulsory mathematics paper (6 ECTS), 1 paper to be chosen from another specialization (6 ECTS), 1 general or scientific culture paper (3 ECTS), 1 language paper (3 ECTS).

* L3 (3rd year level)

11 compulsory chemistry papers (48 ECTS), 1 chemistry specialization paper to be chosen from 4 options (6
ECTS), 1 careers paper (3 ECTS) and 1 language paper (3 ECTS).

Physics and chemistry program

The program gives solid foundations in both chemistry and physics, and aims to blur the boundaries between the two disciplines.

* L2 (2nd year level)

6 compulsory chemistry papers (33 ECTS), 4 compulsory physics papers (24 ECTS), 1 language paper (3 ECTS).

* L3 (3rd year level)

3 compulsory chemistry papers (18 ECTS), 3 compulsory physics papers (18 ECTS), 2 compulsory general papers (12 ECTS), 1 internship paper (6 ECTS), 1 careers paper (3 ECTS) and 1 language paper (3 ECTS).

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
