Degree Structures and Levels
Results in Second Year Mathematics determine whether students may take Mathematics or Applied Mathematics in Third Year, if they wish to continue studying
Mathematics. Results in Third Science examinations determine the options available in Fourth Year.
Second Year
Students continue with three of their First Year subjects. Students choosing Computer Science must also take Mathematics. Mathematical Physics may be combined with Chemistry, but this combination is not permitted in Third Year. Students should bear this in mind if selecting these two subjects in Second Year.
Third and Fourth Year
Students take two of their Second Year subjects in Third Year. Students require 45% in their Third Year examination to proceed in that subject in Fourth Year. Students may opt for either a Double or Single Honours Programme in Fourth Year.
Double HonoursStudents take two subjects in Third and Fourth Year.
