The modular format will be attractive to prospective students and to employers. Specific modules may be taken by graduates as part of Continuous Professional Development (CPD).
The aim of the programme is to provide education and training for graduates with good grades in BSc Ordinary and General Degrees or Diploma/Technician Diploma programmes Level 7 (NQAI), enabling such graduates to achieve an Honours BSc Degree qualification Level 8 (NQAI).
The subjects offered will provide graduates with exciting opportunities in research and development and skills important in biomedical, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, in-vitro-diagnostic, veterinary and equine and/or nutritional science depending on module choices.
Candidates will be required to undertake ten compulsory core modules and to select two modules from the optional modules. Compulsory core modules comprise biochemistry (three modules), molecular biology (three modules), applied immunology, bioanalytical science, microbial control and biotechnology of the cell. Optional modules comprise biomedical science, biopharmaceutical science, veterinary and equine science and nutritional science. Graduates are universally recognised by industry and academic institutions.
