Engineering Systems Maintenance is an engineering activity which allows graduates to work in a mechanical/manufacturing/electrical engineering maintenance environment in high-tech multi-national companies as well as traditional indigenous industries and public utilities.
Maintenance engineering is a key component of an industry´s competitiveness. It ensures efficiency, safety and reliability of production and service delivery of public utilities. Areas of study during the three year programme include Mechanical Maintenance, Electrical Maintenance, Computer Software Applications, Communications, Mathematics, Engineering Science & Materials, Thermal & Fluid Plant, Mechatronics, Metrology & Quality, Facilities Operation Maintenance and Efficiency, Business Management, Final year Project.
The programme is an excellent combination of academic class-work and practical "hands-on" work in DIT laboratories and workshops.

Examinations and other requirements
Students take a college examination at the end of each semester which is moderated by the Dublin Institute of Technology. The submission of appropriate reports, projects and laboratory work are essential requirements of the programme.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
