As a student of Business and Management, you will gain a firm grounding in all key areas of management, enterprise and business administration. The Business and Management degree is a comprehensive business programme of study covering management, economics and financial accounting. A feature of the programme is the themed approach which provides great flexibility for students to follow a stream of study suited to their needs and interests. Management, business law, economics, marketing, operations management, organisational behaviour, leadership, human resources, and innovation management - these are just some of the broad range of topics you will study, preparing you for entry into multiple avenues of business.
The broad sweep of this course means you won't be limited by choosing a specialty too early on, while giving you a solid foundation in each of the many areas that make up business life. You will learn to think analytically and to communicate effectively. You will also gain insight into the latest research in various fields of business and acquire skills directly relevant to the practice of management.
On completion of the degree students will have gained an excellent foundation in leadership and management of organisations, and the financial analysis and measurement of performance. These skills provide opportunities for students to take up roles in industry, commercial organisations, banking and financial sectors, professional firms, consultancy organisations, and the public or health care sectors.
