Vocation and Activities of Bachelor in Media Technology
The Department of Media Technology trains engineers who are able to act independently and responsibly in business and society. Engineering methods, technical skills and knowledge can be combined with media cultural knowledge, fundamentals of media design and important aspects of content as well as generally important elements of management such as project management and business administration. The media technician has a very important integrative function in operation, by combining computer science with content, technology and design, and products with ergonomics.
There are career opportunities in all areas in which media are used and produced. Not only media companies such as film and radio, but many other businesses that work in the field of communication, entertainment and Internet presentation employ media technicians.

Course Sequence
The study of media technology comprises seven semesters including one practical semester. A pre-study before studying and an internship in the semester is not mandatory but is recommended. The course is laid out on a very broad band and consists of five semesters of lectures and practical terms. In the seventh semester the Bachelor's thesis is written and is usually carried out in a media institution or a media company or can be created in the well-equipped laboratories of the university.
In the third semester students have to specialize (Media Design or Media Computer Science can be chosen).
In addition to the internship the practical skills will be completed by case studies, projects and exercises.
One theoretical study term, the industrial internship or Bachelor's thesis can be completed abroad.
Degree/Graduation
With the successful completion of the tests and the final thesis, the degree of Bachelor of Engineering Media Technology " is awarded by the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences.

The aim of the study media design focus is to impart knowledge on the production-development, design, implementation and commercialization of technologies and content of the three areas of print, TV / film and radio. These practice-oriented projects are dealt with in the following topics:

The program provides technical and media-based cultural knowledge, which is increasingly needed to help shape the globalizing and integrating developments in the information society. So, scientific engineering knowledge, computer science and techniques of digital media design, journalism and business aspects are combined to enable students to become self-responsible engineers.
Through a comprehensive education in basic subjects, students should be able to recognize the important relationships of relevant areas of knowledge and apply engineering knowledge and methods. The pre-requisite for a course of study at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences is the general qualification for university entrance, or rather the subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification.
