The study of Mechanical Engineering at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences comprises seven semesters. The 6th semester will be completed as a practical term.
Starting in the 4th semester, the students have to choose one of the offered specializations.
With the successful completion of the Bachelor examination, the degree "Bachelor of Engineering" Short form" B. Eng." is awarded.
Especially qualified graduates who are interested in research and development are given the opportunity to engage in a Master's degree (electrical engineering at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences.
Vocational
The profession of Bachelor of Engineering (B. Eng.) in Mechanical Engineering covers a wide field of work:
from research and development, design, production planning, assembly, installation and commissioning, and project planning of technical services and sales.

Mechanical engineering is one of the classical training areas of engineering disciplines.
It therefore offers a wide range of professional fields, ranging from the field of traffic engineering, physical engineering, mechanical engineering or electrical supply, waste disposal and building systems.
Study Objective
The aim of this program is to bring diverse interested and creative young people in the broad field of engineering technology and to introduce them to the tools for their future interdisciplinary activities.
Main Course/Specialization
Development and construction (ENK)
Focus: construction scheme, in particular the use of computerized tools such as CAD (Computer Aided Design), CAE (Computer Aided Engineering), use of computerized tools for teaching purposes and component simulation calculations.
Energy Technology / Engineering (ETA)
The focus of ETA provides the mechanical engineer with technical skills for the construction of power plants with conventional and renewable natural, cogeneration plants and for reactor and power plant technology. Furthermore: heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Technology of metals and plastics (TMK)
Focus: in-depth knowledge of production, selection and use of metals and plastics. It covers in particular the latest technologies in the fields of welding, injection molding, tooling and extrusion technology.
Entrance qualifications
The pre-requisite for a course of study at the Deggendorf University of Applied Sciences is the general qualification for university entrance, or rather the subject-restricted higher education entrance qualification.
