Location of Transport and Telecommunication Institute

The goal of the program is to provide:

o fundamental mathematical, algorithmic and technological training in the field of computer science, as well as in the spheres of economics, social disciplines and foreign languages;

o mastering of models, methods modes and forms of analysis, development and application of mathematical, informational and software support for computer systems and networks;

o knowledge of the main principles of software interface organization and ability to use such knowledge;

o studies of research and modelling methods of computational processes, principles and methods of hardware and software integration in the process of computer systems and networks development and their information security insurance;

o knowledge of economical, organizational and legal issues of labour organization, the organization of production and academic researches, standards and regulations of labour safety aspects;

o understanding of modern tendencies in the development of computer and information technologies and ways of their application in various spheres of human activities.

Requirements

* The original of high school transcripts (for those entering the preliminary and the first courses).
* For the documents issued beyond the borders of the Republic of Latvia the verification is performed in the Centre of Academic Information of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia.
* It is desirable to have 5.5 IELTS (TOEFL 550) for study in English, but certificate is not obligatory.

The undergraduate study programme "Bachelor of Natural Sciences in Computer Science" is carried out at The Faculty of Computer Science and Electronics in compliance with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Latvia, the licence of 13.10.1999. Nr. 04038-1, and in full accordance with the LR Education Classification (LR code: 43481) and International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED - 97: level - 5A).
