Our BEng Computers and Electronics combines the study of computers with electronics (particularly digital electronics). You share many modules with our courses in our computer systems engineering theme but also draw upon material from our electronics and telecommunications courses, but without requiring A-level mathematics. You study computer hardware and software, operating systems, logic design and embedded systems.
All students taking our BEng courses can apply to be student members of the Institution of Electrical Engineers. If you join as a student member you will be automatically transferred to the class of Member of the IET (MIEE) when you graduate. After some further study (for example an MSc) and a number of years in a responsible position (meaning you will typically be in your early thirties), you can apply to be become a Chartered Engineer.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
