The process of European integration is substantially changing numerous fields, ranging from social to legal domains, from the business world to the economic and financial spheres. The competitive arena in which business is done is getting larger by the day: it is increasingly necessary to think and operate in not only European, but also international terms.
The Bachelor of International Economics, Management and Finance, which is entirely taught in English, enables students to understand and analyze these dynamics thanks to a solid preparation focusing on enterprises and public and private institutions operating internationally, and especially in the European Union. The program gives students an in-depth assessment of the structure of the economic and financial system from an international perspective, as well as helping them acquire the tools needed to evaluate the mechanisms which regulate the process of integration of regional economies at the economic, monetary, commercial, financial, and institutional levels. In addition, students can choose to major in Economics, Management or Finance in their third year.
EDUCATIONAL GOALS
BIEMF allows its students:
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Common subject basis
The program structure of this phase features the same subjects as all the Bachelor programs that share a common basis, with courses taught in English.
These courses teach students the basic concepts in economics and management and provide a solid foundation in law, mathematics and statistics. An essential perspective is offered by the economic history course.
Characteristics of the Bachelor program
In this second phase, the study program develops main topics regarding international economics, management and finance. In these core courses, students study the dynamics and determining factors of the global economy: growth, inflation, unemployment, and fiscal and monetary macroeconomic instruments. They also analyze political and economic integration processes in Europe and in international markets. The institutional, administrative and constitutional contexts, social dynamics, rules and regulations operating in European and non-European markets are all examined from a comparative point of view.
Personalization of study track
At the end of the first semester of the second year, students choose between a major in management, economics or finance, each including 6 courses. The program is completed with 2 elective courses (one of which may be substituted by an internship) and the final paper.

More informationEvery year Università Bocconi establishes the maximum number of students that can be admitted to each study program. In this way the University guarantees the best possible living and study conditions for students, so that they can successfully complete their degrees and enter the job market.
For the selection, the two categories of applicants are determined according to the student's citizenship:
Graduate or transfer students from other foreign or Italian universities may partecipate in all the sessions of selection, according to procedures established for all the other applicants and have specific rules connected with the recognition of credits.
Università Bocconi has a detailed system of tuition and fees, financial assistance and exemptions, aimed at providing all students the peace of mind necessary to complete their studies.
For three-year Bachelor programs in Economics, Università Bocconi foresees 4 income brackets adjusted to the economic and patrimony conditions of the student's original and de facto family.
The assigned income bracket will remain the same throughout the entire degree program, except in specific cases in which request for an income bracket can be checked or re-examined by either Università Bocconi or the student in question at the start of the academic year.
