The BA Liberal Arts and Science degree is the joint initiative of four leading faculties: The Tilburg School of Economics and Management, the Tilburg Law School, the Tilburg School of Humanities, and the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Which means you get the best of four worlds.
With a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences you can be more than you imagined.
CURRICULUM STRUCTURE
The programme is divided into six semesters, each requiring the completion of 30 ECTS worth of courses (usually five courses of 6 ECTS each), leading to a total of 180 ECTS - and an internationally-renowned Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Tilburg University.
30 ECTS translates to around 40 hours of study per week, divided into 15 hours of class-time and 25 hours of independent study.
PROGRAMME COMPONENTS
Compulsory courses These courses are designed to lay the groundwork for the development of strong academic skills. All compulsory courses are taught using the team teaching method.
Elective courses At three different points throughout the programme, you have the opportunity to select your own electives - a chance to enrich your curriculum with interdisciplinary knowledge of your choice.
Major courses Your Major involves in-depth study within one academic discipline, qualifying you for a variety of careers or a Master´s degree in that area. You can Major in one of four areas:· Business & Management· Law in Europe· Social Sciences· Humanities: European History and Culture.
Minor courses Your Minor can be in a field different to that of your Major, giving you the opportunity to broaden your expertise. You can also pursue your Minor in the same field as Your Major, further expanding your knowledge in that specific area.

Tilburg University’s Liberal Arts and Sciences programme is a fully accredited Bachelor’s programme. The Dutch government allocates responsibility for accreditation to the NVAO (the Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders), and the NVAO accredited the BA Liberal Arts and Sciences programme in spring 2007. Upon successful completion of the programme students receive a legally accredited Bachelor’s degree from Tilburg University and the title Bachelor of Arts (BA).
