Location of Newcastle University

The MArch is a modular degree based on design project work, supported by lectures and seminars that examine the theoretical, practical and material dimensions of architecture.

Each year you are required to complete 120 credits of work and through our Erasmus and international exchange programmes there are opportunities to study abroad.
The MArch also offers accelerated routes onto our MSc Town Planning, MSc Digital Architecture and MA Urban Design programmes.


Requirements

To undertake this programme you must hold RIBA Part I and have successfully completed a year in professional training. There are established progression routes onto this programme for students who are currently studying architecture at Newcastle University. We also welcome applications from external students.

Applicants whose first language is not English require IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90 (Internet-based) or 577 (paper-based), or equivalent. Applicants whose IELTS score is between 6.0 and 6.5, or equivalent, at the time of application must complete a pre-sessional course at INTO Newcastle University before the programme begins.
