Location of Yasar University

Visual Communication Design Department aims to provide students the ability to create an effective visual language and communication content. VCDS Students are educated in typography, digital and non-digital imagery, three-dimensional forms and learn to create communications in various media formats: books, posters, interactive multimedia and web sites.

Visual communications is an interdisciplinary field. Therefore the curriculum of the Department needs to balance between communication and visual arts. Students are expected to gain both communication knowledge and artistic skills. Curriculum of the Department is accordingly designed to offer the students all the necessary courses for achieving high standards in visual communication professions. The graduates of the department are expected to be for socially, ethically and artistically sensitive in their professional life.

Visual Communication Design Department’s academic staff watchfully guides the students to be creative and versatile designers to solve complex design problems. Additional to the departmental courses the students are encouraged to actively participate in several workshops during their four year education. The Department gives emphasis to international academic and artistic relations. Department’s classrooms are fully equipped with latest audio-visual technology and IT infrastructure. Students may also use Department’s Graphics Workshop and Multimedia Workshop facilities and equipment.

Students graduated from Visual Communication Design Department will be able to work in public and private sector companies such as advertising agencies, printing studios, printing houses, newspapers and photograph studios.

Funding details

Yasar University offers an annual scholarship of 1500 USD to all full-time international undergraduate students, who register to faculty at the university. The tuition fee is therefore 7500USD for all first year international students. The continuation of this scholarship in each following academic year is dependent on the student achieving a minimum GPA score of 2.50.

Tuition fees also include membership to the university library and sports facilities, an assigned academic advisor, support classes in Turkish, graduate bench fees, as well as access to the campus and IT facilities 24/7. Payment of fees should be made by bank transfer in one or two installments, as outlined in the registration instructions. Fees at Yasar University are subject to review on an annual basis in line with currency fluctuations.
