The Department of Music is one of the newest music departments in the country, and well on track to becoming an internationally renowned center for music teaching and research. The teaching staff consist of artists (Alexander Rudin, Lukas David and Rusen Gunes), each with a successful international background. Through its undergraduate programs in Strings and Piano-Guitar, the department provides a rich source of musical experience, knowledge and infomation. Students interact with other muscians, as well as with composers and performers. They become involved in both the technical and the theoretical aspects of music. In addition they are encouraged to participate in music related activities within the community.
Program overview
The Department of Music sets importance on the traditional music skills, but this is not the only focus of the program. Students are also encouraged to develop at a personal level and to become more individual and imaginative in their interpretations, taking their music to new unexplored areas. They are also given the opportunity to integrate different styles of playing into their work, drawing upon what they have learned during lectures and at conferences. The university provides students with full use of specialized recording studios, a concert hall and practice rooms. A range of muscical genre are also covered in the program, incluing opera, film and period music, as well as music theory, psychology and the etiquette of a performing in public.

Career opportunities
Graduates can work as performing artists in classical music orchestras, including symphony, philharmonic and chamber music. They also have the opportunity to perform and / or record as professional artists in all areas of the music industry. Some students may also choose to further their careers at university with postgraduate study.

Yasar University offers an annual scholarship of 1500 USD to all full-time international undergraduate students, who register to faculty at the university. The tuition fee is therefore 7500USD for all first year international students. The continuation of this scholarship in each following academic year is dependent on the student achieving a minimum GPA score of 2.50.
Tuition fees also include membership to the university library and sports facilities, an assigned academic advisor, support classes in Turkish, graduate bench fees, as well as access to the campus and IT facilities 24/7. Payment of fees should be made by bank transfer in one or two installments, as outlined in the registration instructions. Fees at Yasar University are subject to review on an annual basis in line with currency fluctuations.
