The International Economics and Policy Programme teaches you how to use economic theory to understand and analyse economic problems and processes. The labour market in the contemporary global economy is characterised by an increasing demand for employees who are well equipped to work in an international environment as analysts, policy makers and business leaders.
The International Economics and Policy Programme prepares you for assignments that require thorough understanding of different types of economic problems and their underlying mechanisms, at the micro and macro level. You will learn how different markets work and understand the dynamics in the global economy. The programme also provides insights into which factors influence economic growth and why economic development differs between different parts of the world. You will also learn about the financial market, about different financial instruments and the fundaments in investment theory.
This programme is designed for those interested in financial markets and those interested in how to use advanced computational methods to analyse economic problems using quantitative methods. The first year courses provide you with basic economic theory and basic knowledge about entrepreneurship and business administration and accounting. During the second year the programme contains courses in statistics and econometrics, providing you with the basic tools for analysing economic data.
In the third year you choose between deepening courses in different areas and you have the opportunity to spend one semester abroad at one of JIBS´ partner universities. JIBS collaborates with more than 200 universities around the globe and the exchange programme offers plenty of opportunities to create a unique educational profile, improve language skills and develop a personal international network that may boost your career.
