The content of the ISMB programme is briefly described below. The programme is based on five values, which will be integrated throughout the entire study. Each student will learn ten competences during the ISMB programme and each year of the study has a central theme (see below).
The five values of International Sports, Management and Business are: Sustainability, Community, Integrity, Diversity and Excellence.
A quick overview of the competences an ISMB graduate will be equipped with:
Broad outline of each study year
Sports (management skills, cultural differences, etc learned through active sports experiences), operational experiences acquired through field trips to European sports locations.
Development of competencies with a focus on policy-based thinking and acting, writing plans based on basic research and advising. Internships in environments which introduce the student to at least two of the three specializations of ISMB (High Performance Sport, Sport Development and Entertainment Sport).
Choose specialization. Work out strategies regarding the professionalization of sports, more and more abstract analyses and complex tasks, work practice and experience in the sport world. Based on analysis and research which is related to what has been done in the years before, business plans are developed.
Graduation project in the chosen specialization.
The internships (10 weeks in year 2, 15 weeks in year 3, 20 weeks in year 4, all with an international focus) will be set in international companies, organizations or associations, preferably outside the Netherlands.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

ACCREDITATION AND QUALITY CONTROL
All AUAS/HvA programmes are accredited by the NVAO (Netherlands-Flemish Accreditation Organisation). AUAS/HvA endorses the Code of Conduct for International students in Dutch Higher Education, which constitutes a pledge of quality for all students.
International students at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences (HvA) can apply for a number of scholarships and grants.
In order to attract talented foreign students, HvA introduced a performance-based scholarship system: the Amsterdam Talent Scholarships (ATS). The ATS are awarded at the end of every academic year to non-EEA students. In order to be eligible for an ATS a student's study results have to meet certain pre- specified requirements.
Excellent students at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam, University of Applied Sciences can apply for a scholarship of the Huygens Scholarship Programme (HSP). HSP is open to both new and current students at HvA. In order to apply for HSP you need to contact the international office of your HvA school.
The Dutch government offers so-called "studiefinanciering" (study stipends). The Informatie Beheer Groep is responsible for the execution of several acts and regulations, such as student grants and information management.
