This speciality will qualify you to function as a designer in a development department within the fashion industry. Throughout the education you will acquire knowledge of trends, development of ideas, materials and product development making you able to carry out a design process from the first idea to the finished fashion product.
The course programme focusses on providing you with skills in preparing a graphic and visual material as well as presenting and arguing in favour of your ideas. You will be up-dated on the development within design and the line of business.
You will sketch on paper but also work with computer programmes such as Photoshop and Illustrator. You will create your styles on industrial machines in the workroom.
The course programme will enable you to take part in interdisciplinary work. Through work experience you will form close relations to the business expanding your own network and strengthening your cv.

BA in Design and Business consists of:
2 years (AP-degree) + 1½ years (BA top up) = BA in Desing and Business
IELTS
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

In order to be admitted to the AP + BA top up in Design and Business you need to have completed one of the following courses:
* General upper secondary education
* International or European Baccalaureate
* High school in the USA/Canada + at least one year of university/college
* At least two years of relevant studies from universities in Africa, India, Pakistan and countries with a similar educational system
* Other relevant courses
Students who have completed the first year of a bachelor's degree can also apply.
In addition you need to have a valid internationally recognized English test such as IELTS, TOFEL etc. The following scores are required:
* IELTS 6.0
* TOEFL IBT 80
* Cambridge CAE C1
* TESA (Test of English for studies Abroad) B2
* Oxford Online Placement Test
Students from the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Germany, Iceland, Finland, Belgium, UK, US, Canada as well as students who have taken their admission diploma (Secondary school, high school etc.) in English do not need an English test.
