This education will qualify you to function as a pattern designer in a development department within the fashion industry where you will often cooperate with designers and other pattern makers.
Throughout the education you will acquire basic knowledge of construction, grading, materials and manufacturing methods making you able to develop patterns ready for production and product documentations.
The course programme focusses on providing you with skills in applying relevant tools within CAD and IT. The AccuMark programme from Gerber Technology will be your daily tool for construction and grading and you will use Adobe Illustrator for a number of illustrations within product documentation. You will be able to communicate products with a view to quality, measurements and tolerances for international business partners.
A BA in Desing and Business - specialising in Pattern Design consists of:
2 years (AP-degree) + 1½ years (BA top up) = BA in Design and Business - Pattern Design
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testIn order to be admitted to the (AP+top BA) in Design and Business: Pattern Design Programme you need to have completed one of the following courses:
* General upper secondary education
* International or European Baccalaureate
* High school in the USA/Canada + at least one year of university/college
* At least two years of relevant studies from universities in Africa, India, Pakistan and countries with a similar educational system
* Other relevant courses
Students who have completed the first year of a bachelor's degree can also apply.
In addition you need to have a valid internationally recognized English test such as IELTS, TOFEL etc. The following scores are required:
* IELTS 6.0
* TOEFL IBT 80
* Cambridge CAE C1
* TESA (Test of English for studies Abroad) B2
* Oxford Online Placement Test
