The Business School has an excellent reputation in the field of accounting and finance. This programme has been developed with professional accountancy bodies and financial institutions, providing services such as insurance, investment and commercial banking and asset management.
The programme places emphasis on integrating accounting, financial and systems theory with the practical application of information technology skills using current business software. Information management and systems play a major role in the management of the finances of many organisations. Students graduate with a highly marketable combination of accounting and finance expertise and transferable analytical, software and systems skills. The accountancy, banking and finance sectors offer high salaries, making them a career of choice for those looking for well-rewarded jobs.
After successful completion of the first year of studies, students may transfer to the second year of the BA Hons Accounting and Finance degree or its specialist stream, BA Hons Accounting, Audit and Assurance Services.Transfer is subject to passing all courses and obtaining an overall average of 50% or more.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

* Applicants with professional qualifications and/or four or more years' full-time work experience are considered on an individual basis. Direct entry into the second year is available for suitably qualified students.
Language skills
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide proof of your fluency in English before you can begin a programme. The main systems for measuring this are IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 for degree programmes or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 for degree programmes. Recently the TOEFL computer-based test has been abolished to make way for the introduction of the Internet-based test, gradually eliminating the traditional paper-based method. Other qualifications may be satisfactory. We can tell you what is acceptable.
