This degree programme seeks to develop IT skills, particularly those that have an application to business organisations.
It is a practical degree covering both technical and theoretical issues. Students learn how to build applications for the Internet, use industry-wide commercial software and develop solutions to business problems. They are also taught to use IT tools and techniques, model different business situations and apply modern principles of design and analysis. They also develop personal skills in communication and teamwork.
Career options
Graduates have career opportunities as business analysts, systems designers, database developers, database administrators and website developers in a wide range of organisations. They may also find career opportunities in information systems security and IT management roles, or as network service administrators.

Language skills
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide proof of your fluency in English before you can begin a programme. The main systems for measuring this are IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 for degree programmes or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 for degree programmes. Recently the TOEFL computer-based test has been abolished to make way for the introduction of the Internet-based test, gradually eliminating the traditional paper-based method.
