This programme would appeal to students wanting to acquire training in Economics and investigating the interface of Law and Economics.
The core courses provide essential knowledge base and key skills, which are based on the benchmark statement for economics and underpin option choices. Each academic year students take a total of 90 credit courses in Economics and 30 credit courses in Law for a total of 120 credit courses per year.
The choice of options in Law enables students to broaden and/or deepen their studies to include legal aspects of Business and legal constraints affecting economic activities.
Aims of the programme
* To provide expertise and training in the principles of economics and their applications to economic and business decisions
* To provide a firm foundation of knowledge about the workings of the economy relevant to business, and their interaction of economic systems at the global level and to develop the relevant skills for the constructive use and clear communication of that knowledge in a range of settings.
* To provide students with an understanding of International Businesses and the challenges in global economic governance and to develop in students the ability to apply the skills they acquire to a range of current economic and business problems and policy issues in a domestic and global context.
* To provide knowledge of the mathematical and statistical methods needed for economic and business analysis and to train students in accessing and analysing economic data, especially financial data relevant to international business.
* To provide student with an understanding of the role of domestic and international institutions in shaping economic and business decisions.

Assessment
Students are assessed through examinations, coursework, presentations, a portfolio of activities, in-class tests, and projects.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Language skills
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide proof of your fluency in English before you can begin a programme. The main systems for measuring this are IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 for degree programmes or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 for degree programmes. Recently the TOEFL computer-based test has been abolished to make way for the introduction of the Internet-based test, gradually eliminating the traditional paper-based method. Other qualifications may be satisfactory. We can tell you what is acceptable.
