Studying at ALRA on this full-time, three-year programme prepares students for varied careers as professional actors. Throughout the programme, students explore their creative, vocal and physical potential and are shown current operational methods and practices, enabling them to present effective and professional work. The course content ensures that students are well practised in the core areas of acting, movement and voice, and throughout the programme these skills are integrated into a series of focused projects on topics such as Shakespeare, Chekhov, TV and radio.

Throughout the degree, students enhance their capacity to learn in a disciplined, organised manner and develop skills leading to self-reliant learning. The programme is fully based in the practice of performance and benefits from the high levels of expertise of the practicing professionals who make up the teaching and directing staff.

The programme enables students to develop skills in voice, movement, singing, dance, stage combat and the recorded arts, thereby preparing them for employment across the widest range of opportunities. It gives students the tools applicable to a variety of performance mediums, including theatre, television, film and radio, and develops students to their greatest potential as versatile performers in the arts and entertainment industries. In more general terms, the programme aims to build up a range of transferable skills, enabling students to deal with the broader aspects of life as a professional actor.
