The courses available within the Drama combined programmes allow students to study several different areas of drama from classical to contemporary theatre. The first year courses combine practical and written work and in the second and final years, emphasis is on either practical or written work.

Studying drama should be enjoyable and stimulating. These programme are not a full preparation for a career in the industry although this may be an outcome; some of our students continue on to drama schools. By studying drama, students acquire 'soft skills' that are valued by all employers including team-building, problem-solving, personal presentation and communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal.

Drama courses are taught by the School of Humanities at the Greenwich Campus. Depending on your selected combination you may be required to travel between campuses.

Requirements

Entry requirements for combined honours degrees are the same as for single honours, with the additional requirement that combinations that include mathematics must have A-level mathematics or equivalent. For combinations that include a language, a minimum of a GCSE at grade C may be required in that language.

Entry Requirements - Degree Programmes
For degree programmes we ask for at least 160 UCAS points. These can be made up from the following:

* a maximum of 60 points may be obtained from AS-levels or ASVCEs alone; at least 100 points should be obtained from A-levels or AVCEs (formerly AGNVQs;
* or at least 12 A-level points, if taken before 2002;
* or an Advanced GNVQ with a minimum Merit profile (if taken before 2002);
* or a BTEC National Diploma at MPP
* or an International Baccalaureate, with at least 24 points

In addition, we normally require at least three GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and mathematics) or equivalent, for example, a Key Skills qualification.

Language skills
If English is not your first language, you will need to provide proof of your fluency in English before you can begin a programme. The main systems for measuring this are IELTS with a minimum score of 6.0 for degree programmes or TOEFL with a minimum score of 550 for degree programmes. Recently the TOEFL computer-based test has been abolished to make way for the introduction of the Internet-based test, gradually eliminating the traditional paper-based method. Other qualifications may be satisfactory. We can tell you what is acceptable.

Additional Requirements

Minimal degree required: High School diploma
Minimal amount of work experience Not specified

Language Proficiency

IELTS Band: 6.0
Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Grade C (Score: 60)
TOEFL Paper-based: 550
