Physical Engineering – (B.Sc.)

Within 5 theoretical semesters, the Bachelor’s course provides broad mathematic, natural scientific and technological basic training, e.g. in the modules Manufacturing Technology, Technical Physics, Physical Measurement Techniques and Technical Optics. As of the 4th semester, specialization in the optional courses of study Laser Technology, Medical Technology, Photonics and Acoustics. In the sixth semester, the Bachelor’s thesis is written in a subject of the chosen field of study, either in industry and commerce or at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences. After successful final examination, the academic degree ‘Bachelor of Science’ (B.Sc.) of Physical Engineering is awarded.

There is a possibility for graduates of the Bachelor’s degree course, to qualify further by taking a consecutive four-semester Master’s degree course Physical Engineering, which is based on the Bachelor’s degree course, thereby obtaining the even higher academic degree ‘Master of Science’ (M.Sc.), as compared to the Diploma degree.
