Alumni will be well qualified for management roles with international enterprises and institutions. Students acquire an unusual level of language competencies and intercultural experience. A solid education in core areas such as business administration, macroeconomics and law is complemented by insights into political, legal and economic factors relevant in an international context. Additionally, students will be honing their communication skills and learn how to deal with cultural differences.
The International Bachelor Business Administration - a seven semester programme starting in October 2010 – includes an International Year taught in English as well as a mandatory internship students are encouraged to complete in an international context. At the same time, the programme emphasizes an education in a multinational learning environment. The flexible programme provides a variety of options for German applicants to collaborate and study with students from different countries – by spending the International Year either at home together with incoming students from partner universities or at a partner university abroad. International students, on the other hand, will during their stay in Frankfurt study with German students as well as with incomings from other partner universities. They will all be taught in common English classes instead of being separated into an international English- and a national German-taught track. However, incoming students may also opt to take classes in the same subjects taught in German.
Domestic and international students who successfully pass the International Year and the internship with a host university abroad may be entitled to acquire – in addition to their home university’s Bachelor degree - the Bachelor degree of the host university (Double Degree programme) if such an agreement exists.
Course Structure
In the first two semesters students learn the fundamentals and principles in disciplines relevant to business administration.
Semesters 3 and 4 are taught in English. The courses in semester 4 are dedicated to international subjects and therefore are designed for the international programme exclusively.
The internship is scheduled for semester 5. Students are encouraged but not obliged to seek a placement outside their home country.
In subsequent semesters, students select two specialisations. Areas of specialisation include:
Financial Services
· Marketing
· Human Resources Management
· Production and Logistics Management
· Taxation
· Controlling
Required electives may be selected from the following:
· International Management
· Business Law
· Business Organisation
· Insurance
· Business Language
· Business information systems: ERP and Business Process Management
· Business information systems: Internet and Multimedia
· Business information systems: Systems Analysis
· Entrepreneurship
Students conclude their studies with a bachelor thesis and an oral examination. In the oral examination, students must demonstrate that they can explain and defend the findings of their Bachelor thesis.
The degree of “International Bachelor in Business Administration” from FHFFM is meant to signify that just as with our well-reputed domestic programme the bearer has received a broad and in-depth business education.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
More informationAdmission requirements

Unless they have English as their native language and/or have completed their college prep school education at an English-language school this will usually be proven by passing the IELTS with a score of at least 6.0 or the TOEFL with a score of at least 80. Another option for students who have finished completed a German school education is the completion of a „Leistungskurs“ in English with a grade of at least 3.0.
