This programme looks at the key ingredients of successful International Fashion Branding, examing best practice through case studies and guest lectures by industry experts.
You will gain a thorough understanding of fashion history and culture together with fashion branding and marketing in Year 1, while the tools of Fashion Brand Promotion are revealed in Year 2.
By Year 3 you will be ready to try out your newly acquired skills through a work placement with the visual merchandising department of a local fashion brand.
In addition, an exciting part of this creative and practical programme is responding to "live" briefs set by external companies facing real issues.
Among the diverse career opportunities for graduates fom this programme include buyer, merchandiser, retail manager, marketing executive, PR, event management, stylist, journalist, wholesale/distributer and entrepeneur.
Due to the international focus of the programme, graduates are well equipped to compete for jobs in the fashion hubs of London, Paris, New York and Milan.
Year 1: Introduction to fashion history, culture and the evolution of fashion branding and marketing theory. This is supported by business modules in Economies, Markets and Enterprise, and Managerial Finance.
Year 2: Brand development through forecasting, sourcing and buying. There is an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills in the module Creative Fashion Brand Promotion, with a live brief from an industry partner.
Year 3: Review online images of fashion brands in the module Fashion Brand Visual Merchandise. A placement opportunity is available within a visual merchandising department or a local fashion brand.
Yeae 4: Honours dissertation in a relevant specialist area combined with modules in Integrated Fashion Marketing Communications and International Fashion Brand Management. There is also an opportunity to undertake a live project with an industry partner.
Exchange: Exchange opportunities exist with partner insitutions overseas.
Language: Language modules are available to study during part of the programme.
Assessment: Assessment is based on a combination of coursework and examinations.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
