The module 'Retail Assignment' will provide you with a unique opportunity to discover your entrepeneurial flair as well as practising the knowledge and skills you have gained from previous years study.
The 'Retail Assignment' is both challenging and exciting, involving the creation on an active trading retail outlet. Personal skills such as teamwork and communication will be tested as you create a unique retail outlet for real customers in a live retail setting. This is a genuine opportunity to put everything you have learned together.
In the past, students have 'set up shop' in the prestigious Princes Square and the busy St. Enoch Centre.
Strong links with industry also mean there is an opportunity for work placements that often lead to employment opportunities for graduates.
Many of our graduates have secured jobs across the retail sector in fashion, grocery and events. Recent graduates have been employed in graduate training programmes at Harrods, Zara, Tesco and Marks & Spencer. Others have secured positions as buyers, home shopping managers and merchandisers in the UK, Europe and beyond.
Year 1 ans 2: HND in Retail Management (or other relevant HND) at a recognised UK or overseas insitution.
Year 3: The Retail Assignment is a practical module that requires students to plan, operate and evaluate their own retail enterprise, while developing their knowledge with modules such as Retail Buying and Logistics.
Year 4: Honours dissertation in your specialised chosen area combined with a mixture of modules suc has Retailing in an International Context that examines the comparative retailing in the USA, Europe and Japan.
Assessment: Assessment is based on a combination of coursework and examinations.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testHND Retail Management or equivalent. B in Graded Unit 2 or above.
