The forensic investigation degree programme has been designed to give students a firm grasp of the theory and practical aspects of the chemical and biological sciences.
Real case studies from The Centre for Forensic Investigation are discussed throughout the programme.
In addition, GCU has recently invested more than £1.5 million to create state-of-the-art chemistry and biology laboratories where students gain invaluable practical experience using modern instruments, such as a DNA analyzer and ultra powerful microscopes.
Consequently, the programme is recognised by the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC) as satisfying the academic requirements for Associate Memberships.
Through GCU's Study Abroad programme, students on this course have the opportunity to spend up to one year at one of our partner institutions in Europe, Canada or the USA.
A degree in Forensic Investigation gives you the opportunity to work in a wide variety of industries in the biological and chemical analysis sectors. For example, graduates from the programme have secured employment in forensic science, the Police, environmental protection, pharmaceuticals and the oil and gas industry.
Other career paths include teaching, management, sales and financial services. Yet another option is to continue your studies to a higher level by enrolling in either a Masters or PhD programme.
