Programme structure

The 3.5 programme covers 7 semesters and gives you an understanding of company and commercial issues.

Instruction will also be a combination of technical and commercial approaches. As a graduated Export Sales & Technology Manager you will have thorough knowledge of both and will be able to act as a link between a company and its clients.

Disciplines

During the course of your education you will be introduced to the following disciplines:

* Technology – Product development, production processes, materials, construction, design and project management
* Sales - Industrial export, marketing, foreign trade, shipping / transportation and innovation
* Communication – foreign languages, cultural understanding and negotiation techniques

Disciplinary focus for each semester

Each semester has its disciplinary focus:

1st semester The business foundation of a company2nd semester Market understanding 3rd semester Planning a market strategy 4th semester Market and client relations 5th semester The selling organisation 6th semester Internship7th semester Specialisation and bachelor project

During your internship you will be able to test your theoretical skills in practice. On the 7th semester you will have the opportunity to specialise within one or more of the subjects you have been introduced to over the first 5 semesters or during your internship. On the 7th semester you will also write your bachelor project.

Trade emphasis for each semester

Each semester also has an emphasis on a certain trade. Trades are represented on the semesters as follows:

* 1st semester – The iron and metal industry
* 2nd semester – The plastic industry
* 3rd semester – The IT and electronics industry
* 4th semester – The timber and furniture industry
* 5th semester – Entrepreneurship

Instruction

During the first 5 semesters, instruction will be a combination of whole class teaching, project work, company visits, guest lecturers and other kinds of instruction. Instruction will mainly take place at the institute. In contrast, the last two semesters take their starting point in a company.

IELTS

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

All applicants should normally as a minimum have an upper secondary school leaving exam preferably in a subject relevant for the programme they are applying for. For some countries outside EU applicants also need 1-2 years of college or university studies.

In general students need to have good marks and on some programmes there are specific requirements for their marks in e.g. mathematics. Applicants must have the exams deemed relevant by the Danish Agency for International Education under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation.

Please note that all programmes require a command of English sufficient for academic purposes, namely:

* IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 6.0 or e.g.
* Cambridge Advance level C
* Cambridge Proficiency level C
* Oxford Placement - 140 (minimum 70 in the grammar part)
* TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 213 if computer-based, 80 if internet-based or 550 if paper-based

Certification must be attached, or your application will not be taken into consideration.
If you wish UCN to consider an alternative English level, you may apply to the International Office for approval. However, for applicants from outside Europe we only accept the IELTS or TOEFL English test.
Applications must be made on the standard KOT form. Applications for admission with the copies of all relevant qualifications attached should be submitted as early as possible.
