Consistently growing sales figures are not the only reason that many school leavers seek a career in the tourism industry. The diversity of tasks offered, the lure of working abroad, dealing with people of various cultures and the many creative opportunities make the world of a travel a popular employer.
The companies, whether travel agents, airlines or shipping companies, hotels or even restaurants are always looking for new ideas to meet their guests' wishes - and it is particularly these companies that often have junior employees with outstanding training, practical experience, knowledge of the industry and an excellent education in foreign languages, business know-how and a confident appearance.
For example, graduates of hotel management schools or trained travel agents rarely bring along this combination. While they master sub-disciplines they do not have a generalist-orientated knowledge of an industry in which the awareness of interrelations as well as customer's wishes is of particular importance.
Excellently prepared
During your six semesters at the Cologne Business School you will learn all sub-disciplines of tourism and in addition also obtain the indispensable commercial knowledge required to manage modern companies. Your portfolio is complemented by the use of English as a study language as well as the inclusion of at least one other foreign language as well as courses in personality and presentation techniques. This then qualifies you for the much sought after positions in the travel industry all over the world.
The study course trains your awareness for the combination of entrepreneurial solidity, satisfying customer wishes and the particular requirements related to touristic products and regions. Whether on a business trip or on holiday - anybody who enjoys a sense of wellbeing in a region, can settle into a comfortable hotel room after a trouble-free journey and enjoy his evening meal in a dignified atmosphere at fair prices and will certainly return.
