Engineering physics includes modern technologies such as, for example, laser, microsystem, surface, semiconductor technology or optoelectronics, the application of physical measuring methods for the analysis of and solution to technical problems, the employment of software and hardware for the processing and evaluation of measurement data, mathematical and computer simulation methods for the numerical simulation of processes and the evaluation of chemicals with regard to their environmental compatibility.
What differentiates graduates of the study program Engineering Physics from those of other study programs? They have a broad basic knowledge, the ability to think analytically and the necessary competences to solve problems. In addition to the technical competences, students learn soft-skills such as, for example, presentation techniques or innovation management and can thus respond flexibly to the needs of the labor market. Not only is knowledge imparted but through the transfer of skills valuable insights are gained, allowing you to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in the appropriate context.
The study program Engineering Physics provides the basics for a future interdisciplinary occupation.Technical and scientific knowledge are vividly and extensively covered and students acquire the skill to think analytically and to find solution approaches. This includes a formal training, which meets the requirements of the internationalization of the labor market (i.e. an internship during the study program and the opportunity to do a semester of study and Bachelor thesis abroad).
The course of studies is compromised of 7 semesters with a practical semester (i.e. internship (in the 6th semester)). After the 4th semester, a major or concentration should be selectd.
