E-Government is a multi-disciplinary and innovative field of work with many possible applications. In addition to expert knowledge regarding information and communication technology and administrative and business knowledge, the practice-oriented course of study also teaches social, communicative and organizational skills: modern information and communication technologies are an essential stimulus for innovation in economy, science and administration.
The interdisciplinarily educated graduates can combine economical necessities and technical possibilities of modern information and communication technology. They are qualified to apply new technologies adopting innovative organization and communication models in local authorities, on state and federal state level as well as in industry and European institutions.

Which vocational professions could be combined with the study program?
POSSIBLE VOCATIONAL FIELDS AND CAPABILITIES
For graduates the doors are open to almost all industries. As interdisciplinary trained experts, they can combine economic needs with the technical possibilities of modern information and communications technology. They are qualified to apply new technologies using innovative organizational and communications models in communities, at national and federal levels in the economy and in institutions at the European level. Coordination of EGovernment and project management are equally as open for graduates as activities in the specialty departments of IT, controlling, sales and purchase or interface functions between the departments. The study also offers excellent conditions for founding an own company.
THE MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSE OF STUDY
Study duration: Regular length of study: 7 semesters for Full-Time study
Abschluss: Bachelor of Science, B.Sc.
Instructional language: German
Practical training: 3 months until the beginning of the 5th semester

Application process for a study-program without limited admission.
After the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences received your application, you will receive a letter of admission, if your application fulfils all the necessary requirements. This letter will inform you about all the information necessary for your enrolment.
If you are interested in a study program without limited admission you only need to apply for the one you prefer most. If you are eligible to study in Germany, you will be admitted to the study program of your choice, so you do not need to indicate alternative preferences.
Application process for a study-program with limited availability
After we have received your application, we will verify whether or not your application fits the formal and educational requirements. In case the number of applications exceeds availability, there will be a selection procedure based on the grade point average of the applicants.
After the selection procedure is finished, you will receive a letter of admission, or, in case you were not selected, a letter of rejection.
In case you have received a letter of rejection for a study program with limited admission, there is still a chance to be selected in an additional selection-round in case an already admitted applicant rejects or withdraws his/her application from the procedure. You participate in additional selection-round if you applied before July 15th 2011.
If you are interested in a study program with limited admission you can apply for a maximum of three of these programs and one with unlimited admission. This way, in case you are not selected for a study program with limited admission, you can still be sure to be admitted to a study program with unlimited admission (provided you are eligible to study in Germany).
Enrolment
After admission you must still enrol to become a student of the University of Applied Sciences of Rhine-Waal.

In order to enroll, you will also need a German health insurance, which we will help you to obtain. Costs for health insurance for students are between € 60,- and € 70,- per month.
