People’s stress is increasing just like the number of elderly and old people and the duration of occupational disability up to retirement age. Everybody wishes to keep or regain health as a valuable possession.
Growing concern about a healthy life-style will become even more significant in future. The need for peace and rest and regeneration of the body in suitable surroundings within a short time, matched with personal needs, will grow just like the demand for appropriate offers for prevention, for suitable recommendations for a healthy diet, for suitable cosmetic products and medication which are available without prescription. With all these wishes, the budget must not be disregarded.
In order to exist as company on a growing market of health products and offers, employees with profound knowledge in theory and practice in the field of natural sciences, nutrition and health are needed. It goes without saying that these employees have at their command the necessary management competence and high levels of commitment for customers on the national and international market.
Possible occupational fields of activity and skills
The degree course Bio Science and Health qualifies in the field of natural sciences and health to enable graduates to contribute decisively at essential key positions in economy and industry. Be it in production, research and development of suitable compounds in the chemical or cosmetic industry, their distribution, in the application of everyday products, in the management of companies and establishments of health prevention, graduates will be able to work in these occupational fields of activity due to their interdisciplinary knowledge and skills.

The degree course Bio Science and Health qualifies in the field of natural sciences and health. Subjects like chemistry, biochemistry, biology, physics and mathematics are in the curriculum just like nutritional sciences, physiology and anatomy, exercise and health, design and psychology. Business management subjects, law, documentation, inter-cultural competence complete the interdisciplinary course in the field of applied natural sciences and health.

Application process for a study-program without limited admission.
After the Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences received your application, you will receive a letter of admission, if your application fulfils all the necessary requirements. This letter will inform you about all the information necessary for your enrolment.
If you are interested in a study program without limited admission you only need to apply for the one you prefer most. If you are eligible to study in Germany, you will be admitted to the study program of your choice, so you do not need to indicate alternative preferences.
Application process for a study-program with limited availability
After we have received your application, we will verify whether or not your application fits the formal and educational requirements. In case the number of applications exceeds availability, there will be a selection procedure based on the grade point average of the applicants.
After the selection procedure is finished, you will receive a letter of admission, or, in case you were not selected, a letter of rejection.
In case you have received a letter of rejection for a study program with limited admission, there is still a chance to be selected in an additional selection-round in case an already admitted applicant rejects or withdraws his/her application from the procedure. You participate in additional selection-round if you applied before July 15th 2011.
If you are interested in a study program with limited admission you can apply for a maximum of three of these programs and one with unlimited admission. This way, in case you are not selected for a study program with limited admission, you can still be sure to be admitted to a study program with unlimited admission (provided you are eligible to study in Germany).
Enrolment
After admission you must still enrol to become a student of the University of Applied Sciences of Rhine-Waal.

In order to enroll, you will also need a German health insurance, which we will help you to obtain. Costs for health insurance for students are between € 60,- and € 70,- per month.
