The studies in the three-year Bachelor’s programme of Electrical Engineering prepares Bachelors as university-educated operational experts for all areas of electrical engineering, which possess the basic knowledge of the relevant theory as well as practical skills. The graduates can continue to study the electrical engineering branches or other related branches in the Master’s study programme. The study in the first year is the same for all students and concerns the elementary subjects of the general basics necessary for the study of all branches. After the completion of the first year the students are divided into four branches of study: Applied and Commercial Electronics, Electrical Power Engineering, Measurement and Control Technology, and Biomedical Technician.
Measurement and Control Engineering: The aim of this course is to provide education in the field of automation, control systems, measurement and sensors. The study is practically based, focusing on the maximization of knowledge applicable in a future job. The graduates can find employment at companies engaged in the design and implementation of measurements, controls and information computer systems in all areas of industry and services.
Applied and Commercial Electronics: This course is based on the study of the basics of electrical engineering branches. Besides this basis, the student chooses a specialized line of study either in the sphere of applied electronics or commercial electronics. Much emphasis is put on a highly effective education in order to teach the students to think creatively and apply new knowledge in practice. The instruction is focused on the practical element, which the students put into practice when drawing up interesting Bachelor’s theses.
Biomedical Technicien: This course prepares the student to find employment in the paramedical profession of a Biomedical Technician in accordance with Act no. 96/2004 Coll. The graduate will be entitled to perform the paramedical profession within the meaning of the valid laws concerning the so-called regulated professions in health service. Electrical Power Engineering: The Bachelor’s course is three years long and graduates is awarded the academic degree of Bachelor (Bc.). The course is taught both in full-time and combined form. The aim of the three-year Bachelor’s course of Electrical Power Engineering is to bring up a Bachelor as a university-educated operational expert for all areas of electrical engineering, possessing the basic knowledge of the relevant theory as well as practical skills. The student acquires a broad basis of knowledge in the branches of heavy-current electrical engineering and power engineering. The Bachelor’s study is focused mainly on the preparation of students for the exercise of a profession that applies the contemporary findings and methods of the given branch. The course follows up on the subjects of the theoretical basis of study and is supplemented with the subjects from heavy-current electrical engineering, such as electrical machines and devices, electric drives, high voltage engineering, theoretical electrical engineering, transmission and distribution of electric power, power plants, production and use of electric power, operation and control of electrification systems, electric light and heat, economics and management in electrical engineering, use of computers in electrical engineering, etc., all with the application of computer technology. Great emphasis is placed on foreign languages.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
