The Bachelor programme in Tourism and Leisure Management gives graduates the tools they need to deal with this aspect of their job. We aim to provide you with comprehensive knowledge of tourism management and the leisure industry with a combination of valuable practical insights and key theoretical elements.
CORE MODULES
Business administration
Initially the focus is on general business subjects, including marketing and accounting.
Specialised tourism subjects
In later semesters the focus of attention switches to more specific aspects of tourism product development, the tourism and leisure industry, finance and entrepreneurship. The following key subjects are addressed:
Languages
In addition to English as the language of instruction, courses are also offered in French, Spanish, Italian, Russian and Chinese. You will be required to select two of these languages when you apply for the full-time programme.
In the part-time programme you two languages offered. With your application you have to decide for one language and either select Spanish or Russian.
Information and communication technologies
This part of the programme concentrates on all areas of state-of-the-art communication technologies, including intensive training in general and sector-specific information technology (for example, Microsoft Office applications), as well as international reservation and bookings systems such as Galileo.

Specialisations
Sports tourism
Focuses on sports and event management, sports marketing, major sporting events, and the role of sport in the tourism and leisure industry.
Cultural tourism
A comprehensive look at the culture sector, ranging from political aspects, planning and finance to the staging of cultural events.
Meeting industry management
Students carry out an in-depth analysis of the seminar industry, incentive travel, conferences and various aspects of business tourism.
Health and spa tourism
An overview of the latest trends in health tourism and the management of companies in the wellness sector.
Sustainable tourism development
This course provides an insight into nature tourism management (for example, in national parks), sustainable tourism, and regional planning in Alpine and urban areas.

Take testTo qualify for admission to a University of Applied Sciences Bachelor programme, you must have an Austrian school-leaving certificate or an equivalent qualification.
In addition applicants for the part-time Bachelor programme have to provide a proof of their current employment with a minimum of 20 hours per week (in correlation to the field of studies).
The academic board is responsible for checking compliance with the entry requirements on a case-by-case basis once the prospective applicant’s complete application file has been received.
