Location of Zealand Institute of Business & Technology, Campus Køge

This programme is aimed at students with a desire to work with concept development of digital platforms on a visually strategic and practical level. The programme offers a choice of either E-Commerce or E-Design and students will obtain a wide knowledge of digital communication. Furthermore students will learn about service design, leisure economy, storytelling, user-friendliness, digital design development, project management and inter-cultural relations. The teaching will take place in a multi-cultural environment with the emphasis on teamwork, e-learning and virtual project management. When the education is completed the graduates are entitled to use the title of Business Bachelor of E-Concept Development.

Career prospectsThe aim of the programme is to qualify students for jobs within the following areas: Development of digital advertising, communication and design concepts for interactive digital advertising/marketing solutions Strategically based concept development of e-shops/e-commerce solutions and e-marketing as well as administrative operation and further development of e-shops/e-commerce solutions.


Contents

First semester.

The purpose of the first semester is to introduce the students to multi-disciplinary e-concept development.

The course is designed to introduce:

  • The needs of business and commerce.
  • Management of e-concept development (project management)
  • How to ensure scientifically-based testing of user-friendliness and traffic of e-concept and digital communication solutions.

During the first semester all subjects are introduced as they are integrated in the modules. These modules are compulsory and the same for all students.

This enables the student to plan for the future and competently select:

  • Modules for the following semester.
  • Work placement with a company and academic/professional focus within the work placement host company.
  • Examination project related to job ideas in the final semester.

The subjects are:

  • E-concept development and e-project management
  • Usability and philosophy of science.

Second semester.

The purpose of the second semester is to allow specialisation in e-concept development on a more extensive and specialised basis than in the first semester. The students must choose 2 or 3 of the following elective subjects. (the choice of either E-commerce or E-design is compulsory):

  • E-commerce
  • E-marketing
  • E-business production
  • E-design
  • E-communication
  • E-media production

Third semester

The purpose of the third semester is to specialise the student's skills in order to build key competencies for a jobcreating profile.

The semester consists of:

  • Work placement
  • Final examination project

The final project is based on work placement and other experience from a professional environment. The work placement immediately precedes the final examination project which is based on the work placement.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Entrance Examination

Applicants will be invited to take an entrance examination in order to assess their interdisciplinary skills and their ability to apply these skills to concept development.

Qualifying education

Students with one of the following educations are directly eligible to the Business Bachelor in E-Concept Development programme:

  • Multimedia Design
  • Computer Scientist
  • Design Technologist
  • E-designer programmes

Other applicants may be invited to take an entrance examination based on a concrete assesment of their actual skills.

Other admission requirements

  • Upper secondary education (10+2) or
  • Vocational education
  • Sufficient English skills - please see information below.

The programme requires a command of English sufficient for academic purposes, namely:
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) with a minimum score of 5.5*) or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 220 if computerbased or 560 if paperbased. Certification must be attached. If you want ZIBAT - Campus Køge to consider and alternative English level, you may apply for approval.

*) Please note that as of the September 2012 intake the minimum score required is 6.0.

The quality of Danish Higher Education is assured by accreditation or ministerial approval of new programmes, the use of external examiners and other quality assurance procedures.
