Here, below, is a description of the five majors:
Marketing: Studying Marketing opens many career opportunities in business and industry; these range from the traditional aspect of communicating the value of products and services which already exist, to launching more innovative and technological products on the market. Advertising also offers job possibilities, developing new products, brand management, sales, web marketing and marketing services to name but a few. Students choosing to specialise in this discipline will acquire a good understanding of the complex relationship between producers and consumers whose needs and price sensitivity they will analyse. They will then be ready to specialise further in one of the many domains of marketing, like international marketing, e-marketing, marketing B to B.
Advertising and Promotion Management: Techniques of advertising and promotion are a very important part of companies’ communications strategy. This specialisation gives our students the key techniques enabling them to conceive a media plan, draw up an agency brief, manage a budget etc. It also prepares them to use their creative talents. Advertising enables a product or brand to expand its image and notoriety in order to influence purchasing behaviour. This is a profession which is always on the move and which requires the talents of managers who are constantly creative.
International Business Development: The internationalisation of the world’s economies is the source of new opportunities but also of new threats for companies and organisations. One answer to these challenges is to gain knowledge of the international business environment, master good practices and understand marketing and methods of international management. Far from being limited to international business practice, this specialisation prepares students to become decision makers in international and multicultural environments. The courses concentrate on understanding the economic, social and cultural dimensions of global business, and make students aware of how to work out truly international strategies for companies. This specialisation is very demanding and requires students to master at least three languages. International mobility of new graduates is encouraged.
Public Relations & Media Communication: Public Relations aims to create, maintain and improve a company’s public image. There are thus a great many activities involved, such as image consultant, press relations, crisis management, sponsorship management, media training and event creation. The practice of public relations uses various tools, like the media, printed material (newsletters, brochures, flyers) and it also resorts to social networks.
Corporate Communication & Event Management: This specialisation offered as a course of study including an exchange deals with everything to do with the image capital of the company: branding, internal and external company communication, reputation etc. With this specialisation, students learn skills which are valuable in all branches of communication: they will thus be managers capable of managing projects or companies and communicating efficiently. Companies may organise events like conferences or festivals in order to promote their image and gain reputation.
