  • Business Economics - Courses in Business Studies form the basis of the programme. Examples of courses in this field are: Mathematics, Statistics, Integrated Service Management, and Finance & Accounting.
  • Industry-specific courses - students get to know the tourism industry from its roots and gain in depth knowledge of specific management-related subjects such as Structures and Organisations in the international hospitality and tourism industry, Tourism Geography, Travel and Congress management, Tourism Law, Destination Marketing and Tourism Projects.
  • Employability - Computer training, foreign language courses, Business Communication, etc all increase our graudates' professionality.

Courses are conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. The average size of a class is 30 students thus allowing an interactive dialogue between professors and students.

Internship

One 5-6 month internship enables our students to turn their academic knowledge into practical experience. The internship can be either in Germany or abroad and represents a crucial element of our study programme. Students establish first ties with the industry and have the chance to make their first impression on potential employers.

Extra Curriculum

A further addition to the study programme's emphasis on practical experience is what we call "Extra Curriculum". The Extra Curriculum is offered once a week during the first semester. Participation is optional.

The programme consists of the following elements:

  • Workshops and conferences on and off campus on different subjects
  • Guest lectures from experts in the tourism industry
  • Field trips to industry-specific companies, e.g. tour operators or airports

The Extra Curriculum works as an excellent orientation tool in the first semester and provides our students with first-hand insights into the world of tourism. In this way, our students learn more about how the industry is structured, and the types of companies and work opportunities that exist.

Studying abroad

Students in the 6 semester Tourism and Travel Management programme who perform very well during their studies have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at one of our partner universities (in-house selection process).

Students in the 7 semester programme International Tourism Management study one year abroad at one of our partner universities where they gain their first Bachelor's degree.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
