The Aviation Management study programme teaches students the core issues of business administration in the aviation industry. In 2001, the IUBH was one of the first European universities to introduce a study programme in Aviation Management. The programme's strong academic focus together with integrated practical components have repeatedly received praise from the industry.
Profit from
Students learn industry specific characteristics, regulations and mechanisms and also have courses in more general business management. Research and project work are designed to additionally deepen and intensify this knowledge. By the time of graduation, students have completed an excellent academic education and have a perfect starting point for their international career in aviation.
Our language of instruction is English, our atmosphere is international and our study programmes aim to make our students highly employable. Our international professors use their practical experience to teach aviation management through case studies, project work and theory; students are trained to apply this knowledge immediately upon graduation.

Flying Bachelor - Study 'n' Fly
Do you want to experience the aviation industry from a cockpit? This isn't a problem for us! The IUBH offers a dual apprenticeship in cooperation with the Air Alliance Flight Center GmbH to obtain an Airline Transport Pilot License in connection with the Bachelor course of studies in Aviation Management.
The three core elements of the curriculum are:
Courses are conducted in the form of lectures and seminars. The average size of a class is 30 students thus allowing for interactive communication between professors and their students.
Internship
One 5-6 month internship enables our students to turn their academic knowledge into practical experience. The internship can be taken either in Germany or abroad and represents a crucial element of our studies. Students establish first ties with the industry and have the chance to make a first impression on potential employers.
Extra Curriculum
A further addition to the study programme's emphasis on practical experience is what we call "Extra Curriculum". The Extra Curriculum is offered once per week during the first semester. Participation is optional.
The programme consists of the following elements:
The Extra Curriculum works as an excellent orientation tool in the first semester and provides our students with first-hand insights into the world of aviation. In this way, our students learn more about how the industry is structured, which types of companies and what work opportunities exist.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
