International Retail Management – (B.A.)

Program Overview: During the basic programme the students are trained in the principles of economics with respect to retail specific characteristics, ranging from marketing to accounting. The language education is covered by one elective foreign language, as for instance German. In the advanced section of the program, the students deepen their knowledge in retailing developing special skills for managing a retail business. The compulsory internship in the students’ retail companies is scheduled for the 6th semester. With completion of the Bachelor’ thesis, the academic degree Bachelor of Arts is being awarded, that enables the students for either a qualified job entry in the retail industry or a post-graduate master programme.

Admission: For the study programme International Retail Management a qualification for university entrance is required. Additionally, it is advised to conclude a practical trainee contract with an internationally active retail company, having several branches abroad, for a period of at least 32 weeks is strongly recommended. Moreover, students need a proof of English language skills, which can be provided by achieving a score of above 197 points on the computer-based TEOEFL test or a score of above 71 points on the internet-based TOEFL test or by an equivalent accreditation certificate.
