Izmir University of Economics is a higher education institution that aims to nurture individuals who are creative, dedicated and wholly committed to Atatürk’s principles and reforms. It wasestablished by “Izmir Chamber of Commerce Education and Health Foundation” in accordance with the principles of Turkish Republic Constitution, Higher Education Law and Regulations about Foundation Higher Education Institutions numbered 2547 The Izmir University of Economics is the first foundation university in Izmir and the Aegean region and began to accept undergraduate students in 2001.
There are 6 Faculties, 3 Schools, 2 Graduate Schools, 8 Application and Research Centers at the university.
27 different undergraduate educations, 18 different master’s education, associate degree education in 5 different programs and 3 different doctoral educations are being executed in these academic units.
Six of the undergraduate educations are double diploma programs executed jointly with the USA-(SUNY) New York State University.
Associate Degree Programs are offered collectively with SQA (Scottish Qualifications Authority) in accordance with The European Qualifications Framework.
Department of Culinary Arts and Management accepts students with pre-registration and other undergraduate and associate degree programs accept students with central examination system (placed with OSYM).
Izmir University of Economics has ERASMUS program agreement with 78 universities abroad and it has academic cooperation protocol with 25 universities.

Services & Facilities
The IUE has a doctor and a nurse on call 24/7 to provide medical services. Counselling and psychological services are also available to enhance the mental, psychological and social development and well-being of our students. Students should seek help within the existing medical services at the University except for emergency situations.
Psychological consultancy and support for students are provided by Student Development and Counselling Center (SDCC).Our clinical psychiatrist working within the body of this center makes interviews with students in weekdays from 08.30 to 18.00. the interviews are executed by weekly sessions and based on a particular system.
The Izmir University of Economics is in Izmir Balçova district, Teleferik locality. The campus is close to the city centre and easy to access by municipality buses. The ones, who want to use the general transportation vehicles can use the following Municipality buses to come to the campus:

Besides, the ones, who come to Üçkuyular port from Karsiyaka Bostanli port by ferryboat may take the 480 numbered bus or take the shared taxis to come to the campus.

AKBANK, DENIZBANK and Türkiye Is Bank ATMs are present in the campus which give 24 hours service. Besides, there are many bank branches near the campus.
Communication Services
Students can communicate in the campus either through Internet or telephone whenever they want.
Sports Facilities
There are sports areas at our university for the students; football, basketball fields. Besides, there are student clubs in different sports like volleyball, basketball, football, sailing, table tennis, underwater, mountaineering and trekking, Far East sports and motor sports.

It is established to support Izmir University of Economics students who have special needs during their education and to provide them to continue their academic studies in similar conditions as other students have. Students who are physically handicapped, hearing impaired, visually handicapped and students with hyperactivity disorder, dyslexia, epilepsy and diabetes can benefit from this unit. Students who have a disability that may hinder their academic or social life at Izmir University of Economics can refer to Students’ Dean, Disability Support Center.
