Ireland - Limerick Local Name: Colaiste Mhuire Gan Smal
Following the establishment of a link with the University of Limerick in 1991, a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts (Ed.) - was introduced in 1992. In addition, postgraduate degrees in Education and in the Humanities are now offered by the College. This step presents an exciting challenge to the College.
It is essential that while having scope to develop new and stimulating academic programmes in the Humanities, the College remains true to its basic purpose and to its acknowledged traditional strengths in teacher education, while at the same time recognising the indispensable benefits of a liberal academic education.
The College is situated in the southern suburbs of Limerick City, within ten minutes walking distance of the city centre. Students have easy access, therefore, to the social and cultural amenities of this historic city.
A Catholic foundation, Mary Immaculate College maintains an active Christian life where Christian values, freedom and personal responsibility are honoured.
Over the years it has established a reputation for sound scholarship, professional quality and academic excellence.
