Programme Structure

In addition to a solid grounding in economics, management and quantitative disciplines, the program features specific courses in the humanities. In particular, Method and Research in Arts is arranged into 3 courses, and allows students to learn the artistic and cultural language typical of the Western tradition. It provides them with the appropriate background needed to critically read, understand and appreciate specific subject areas which may lead to a vocation. The first introductory course is compulsory while the other two are monographic courses to be freely chosen. They focus on:
  • Visual Arts: gives students the basis to study and interpret ancient, modern and contemporary
  • visual arts.
  • Visual Cultures: provides an in-depth study of the fundamental topics of visual cultures, such as
  • photography, design, cinema, radio and television.
  • Public Opinion, Information, Narration: participants study the mechanisms which lead to public
  • opinion, analyzing the value of mass communication today and in the past. The objective is to shed light on the connection between information, democracy and totalitarianism.
  • History of Performing Arts: proposes an in-depth study of the important topics of contemporary
  • performing arts by comparing the various disciplines, and the analysis of the elements which are common to and different from the evolution of cinema, music and the theater.
  • History and the Critique of the Culture: introduces students to a historical, critical and
  • phenomenological knowledge of the foundations of Western culture through contemporary and modern art.
Moreover, all the workshops held in the third year are in English. Students either choose one workshop or complete an internship.
